I booked to stay as I was taking part in the Loch Ness Marathon. The location was perfect, right in the centre and a 10 minute walk to the event village for the marathon and pick up point for the busses to get to the start line. The hotel was very pricy for what it is but I put that down to the huge event being on and expecting it. A lot of reviews I read had said it was in a poor state of repair and unclean which made me apprehensive but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes it is a little dated but everything is in working order, clean, tidy and comfortable. Only area I felt could benefit a good dust was behind the telly which I only seen as we used our firestick when there and had to plug it in. I requested a river view room and it was perfect, facing the front to the river and castle. The bed was super comfortable with hard and soft pillow options which my partner and I really appreciated! As frequent hotel stayers, we hate when it is only a squishy soft pillow provided as we both prefer the firm options. Can’t comment on breakfast as I was up and out at 6am but all in all, I would recommend and stay again.

We stayed in the Columba on the last night of a nearly 3 week vacation. There is a large, comfortable room on the second (?) floor that we used to finish up cheese, sausage and such before departing, and it was a wonderful, relaxing spot. Our room was comfortable and clean. There are a lot of steps to the various levels in this hotel, and even using the elevator there are some rooms that will require a few steps and some zig zagging around. We are fully capable of that, but some might not be, esp if you are dragging around enormous bags, which we weren’t. Friendly desk personnel, and an altogether pleasant stay!

Value was amazing. $108 Canadian Dollars a night in early March 2025. Location was perfect, and beautiful. Hotel was oozing with charm. Bed was comfy. Ceilings were so high. View was even good into courtyard. Windows were old but could be opened which we prefer. I loved this place! Also, this was mid-trip for us and needed to get laundry done. Good location right around the corner - 1 big load, washed, dried and folded, same day - about $35 CDN dollars. Nice Asian lady.

Location was excellent, right on the riverfront, 2 minutes walk from the cathedral, close to public transport, shops and dining. Beds were very comfortable, room spacious and warm, heater was very effective but hardly necessary . Breakfast had gluten free cereal but no nondairy milk, plenty of fruit, cooked and continental as well as porridge available. All seating was comfortable and there was an upstairs lounge which overlooked the river Ness

Tina

The hotel has a great location. new hotels going in in the area. The hotel has a pub/restaurant in the location. It is right on the river Ness if you like nice walks along the banks. parking is close by and very reasonable. The location affords itself to the inner city and pedestrian ways with many shops and restaurants. there are many notable churches and the cathedral very close by,
